About CENSCOPE
The Centre for Social Cohesion, Peace and Empowerment (CENSCOPE) is a national non-profit organization duly registered with Nigeria’s Corporate Affairs Commission. Established in 2018 and headquartered in Maiduguri, Borno State, CENSCOPE was founded in response to the humanitarian crisis resulting from armed conflict and natural disasters.
CENSCOPE is committed to promoting self-sustainability, equality, and social justice, with programmatic focus on peacebuilding, social cohesion, protection, gender equality and inclusion, livelihoods, education, WASH, climate change, health, and nutrition. The organization works in partnership with national and international stakeholders, including UN agencies and international non-governmental organizations, to deliver principled humanitarian assistance and support long-term development outcomes.

Job Title: Logistics and Procurement Officer
Location: Borno
Job Type: Full Time
Job Summary
The Logistics and Procurement Officer will be responsible for managing procurement processes and logistics operations to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and compliant acquisition and delivery of goods and services in support of project activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement Management
• Prepare and process purchase requisitions, RFQs, Invitation to Bids, and RFPs
• Ensure procurement is conducted in line with organizational policies and donor requirements
• Conduct bid analysis and support vendor selection
• Prepare and issue purchase orders (POs)
• Maintain an updated supplier/vendor database
• Ensure proper procurement documentation and filing
2. Logistics and Supply Chain Management
• Coordinate transportation and distribution of goods and materials
• Manage fleet operations where applicable
• Plan and monitor delivery schedules
• Ensure proper warehouse and storage management
• Track shipments and ensure timely delivery to project locations
3. Inventory and Asset Management
• Maintain accurate stock records and inventory systems
• Conduct regular stock counts and reconciliations
• Ensure proper labelling, storage, and tracking of assets
• Manage issuance and tracking of organizational equipment
4. Compliance and Reporting
• Ensure adherence to procurement and logistics policies, procedures, and donor regulations
• Maintain complete and accurate procurement and logistics records
• Prepare periodic reports on procurement and logistics activities
• Support audits by providing required documentation
5. Vendor and Stakeholder Management
• Liaise with suppliers, service providers, and transporters
• Ensure quality assurance of goods and services received
• Resolve issues related to deliveries, damages, or delays
6. Risk Management and Ethics
• Ensure transparency, accountability, and fairness in procurement processes
• Identify and mitigate logistics and supply chain risks
• Declare and avoid conflicts of interest
Key Skills and Competencies
• Good knowledge of procurement procedures and supply chain management
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
• High level of integrity and attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field
• Minimum of 2–4 years experience in procurement and logistics (preferably in NGO settings)
• Knowledge of donor regulations and humanitarian operations
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
